Mina Binebine : Behind the Brand
Mina Binebine's journey from a young girl fascinated by the traditional fabrics of Moroccan culture to a renowned fashion designer is a true testament to the power of passion, hard work, and determination.Growing up between three different cities, Mina's exposure to various cultures and traditions ignited a spark within her that would eventually shape her future. After graduating from high school, Mina knew that fashion was her calling, and she decided to pursue her dream by enrolling in the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.During her studies, Mina honed her skills and worked to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to make a name for herself in the fashion industry. Her passion for fashion and her willingness to go the extra mile paid off, as she quickly rose through the ranks and landed a job as an art director for a high-end lingerie brand. But Mina's journey was far from over. Driven by a desire to create something truly unique and special, she decided to launch her own fashion brand, MINA BINEBINE. She knew that she needed to acquire a solid business background to make her dream a reality, and so she pursued an MBA in Business Administration at Marymount California University.During this time, Mina continued to work on her craft, showcasing her designs through numerous shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego. However, when the Covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020, everything came to a standstill, and Mina found herself back in Morocco. But instead of being discouraged by the situation, Mina saw it as an opportunity to take things into her own hands. She bought a small sewing machine and set to work, pouring her heart and soul into creating an entire collection that she named Patchwork. This period of confinement was a turning point for Mina, as it marked the beginning of a new chapter in her life. Her passion and hard work paid off in October 2021 when she organized her biggest fashion show to date at the Palais Es Saadi in Marrakech. The show was a huge success, and Mina established herself as an emerging Moroccan designer. From there, Mina's star continued to rise, and she was invited to present her Patchwork collection at New York Fashion Week in February 2022 and then her new collection called Eclosion in Paris, on sept 2022. Today, Mina Binebine is based in Marrakech, where she continues to create unique and increasingly sought-after collections in the fashion industry.
